Whether you stumbled here by accident, or after a long search for some of your favorite Assyrian or Chaldean recipes, I'm glad you're here! This site was created to promote my book and to introduce you to Assyrian food and the Assyrian culture.
If you are Assyrian, you already know how difficult it is to get a recipe of your favorite dishes like Biryani, Baklava and Dolma from your mother. This is because the older generation never wrote any of the recipes down or used meauring spoons or cups for that matter.
Unfortunately, when we lose our treasured older generation, we also lose a wealth of knowledge. As a result, the dishes we grew up enjoying will only live in our memories. For this reason, I am so thankful that I got to shadow my mother in the kitchen before she passed away in 2009. Besides creating memories that I wouldn't trade for anything, I managed to write precise recipes for some Assyrian classics like Chada, Kileche, Boorak and Chipteh.
